1.
Sam, I wish we could tell you What we have seen Be weary of the world It comes in colors Darker than these But your heart Is lost in the leaves They will surely fall All at once you will succumb In a beautiful wave At the end of sorrow
2.
Don't you worry about this Because I already have All you need is to forget Because in the moonlight You look so beautiful And in the ocean's arms I Feel beautiful Dark hair You are the sky When you go Go walking by There's stars in the sky And I'd like to stay There in your eyes But always Morning will come No storm ever could break us up But we might never see land again
3.
The chains on our neck Are made of daisy flowers We're spending our days We're only meant for hours All of this will go and then we'll go So you stay here With me This is my only way to say I want to take your bones with me Into my grave Rolling eyes around Rolling tears are down They're already down Because it's the wilder cave And I'll be here to stay ... Come on now Let's forget Worries for the faithless Come on now Let's forget I said anything
4.
5.
Come off the sand with angel's wings Cold body won't rise All love fades While you breathe love fades out breath
6.
Come away again The daughters of waves Recede then fade Come away again the daughters of waves recede then fade Why can't I stay with you Because the setting sun has died But I know no no But I want to stay with you Because the setting sun will rise I know you will rise I know you'll rise Come away again the daughters of waves recede then fade And now I miss you forever like I will do I know you hear me Even if you're quiet I know you hear me Even if you're quiet ... She used to love to dance Back when we had a chance But you can't see these waves coming coming I know I know When you're gone you're gone I know Better than most
7.
Oh my love I can't let you go Say you're gone and you'll never come back and I will go Say your eyes will stay that way Closed
8.
Gray river let me be I don't want to go down Your waves to the sea All of the boats go out With such big dreams They break up on the rocks They go onto them They don't come off of them Tunnel coming all I've waited for Tunnel coming all I've waited for Everything will be alright Emptiness cannot harm emptiness
9.
I reach my hands up to the sky I try I want to be up where you are With you Maybe wings to get me high I try From down here I miss you like the ocean Hold me for a while I'm not ready to let go The ocean knows your name Better than I Do now What should I do now She walks up there now With her feet so bare and pure The sky is golden brown And she is looking down on me Permanently Permanently Don't you Go where I can't Follow you Follow you .... River bend and let me free I've never been really
10.
I'll love you forever, oh I'll love you forever, oh I'll love you forever, oh All this time I've been looking around me Wish I was looking at your eyes now my love I give you all my sky I leave you with my eyes Because I won't need them anymore Better for you where you are Now I'll leave you be In heaven with the angels Talk to you when I'm through But darling I will always miss you I'll love you forever, oh
11.
There is no prison There are no walls You are dreaming You are dreaming .... But now it's over
12.
Oh Sara feel your weight Let you go And die from heart break
13.
Please don't leave me Even if I, If I let go
14.
A hymn to the vast

About The Recordings

The earliest of these songs was written in 2010 and I have continued writing until 2014 when it became clear to me that I would work on this story forever. The story was initially called "Sam/Sara, and The End of Sorrow" As time went by and we familiarized ourselves with the emotions and intimacy of the sounds, many songs and ideas were cut in the process making the story more and more deeply colored in my eyes.

Most of these songs were recorded live, after many failed attempts to produce a "hi-fidelity" record. Instead I eventually decided to let the songs be as they chose to be. At this point, I am deeply satisfied with how it has developed.

It was Abby, my forever love, who you hear singing from time to time as the voice of Sara. She did everything in her nature to allow this album to reach other's. She believed in it when I wanted to quit, many times. She stood silently by as I recorded the wind and waves passing over a cave by the ocean in Spain. She waited with me for the sea gulls to speak at the Oregon coast. She co-wrote and re-wrote the whole story many times. The music and I are indebted and tied to her in a most grateful and glad way.

My friend in France, Clement Grison, has asked that you all be invited to listen to the entire album since it is a story that only unravels when listened to in the chapter order.

With the warmth of the sixth day of September,
Brett

credits

released September 18, 2014

Written, recorded, mastered, and produced by Brett Larson and Abby Larson. Most instruments are played by one or both of us. Dear Joseph Braun is the man who holds the guitar in Moonlight. Forrest Lotterhos wrote the piano parts for 'Heaven'.

The cover and back of the album were made in Oregon by our dear friend Angie Spiering who is as lovely as the forrest itself.

The photographs for 'Moonlight', 'McKenzie', 'There Is No Prison', 'At the Ocean', and 'A Hymn to the Sea' were taken by the huggable polymath Stuart Eagon, whose films and stills move my heart in unpredictable and quiet ways.
